Since the announcement of United Nations (UN) 17 Social Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015, many organisations started to be more aware on the importance of developing sustainability stewardship for their respective organisations in compliance to respective regulations on sustainability.

However, there are many challenges in the developmental process of sustainability stewardship in particular the alignment of stewardship strategy to the organisation’s sustainability goals and its overall strategic plan, obtaining buy-in from both internal staff and external stakeholders like customers, continuous upgrade on sustainability trends and changes in regulation that impact on the organisation.

  • The design of CSO’s job scope to create awareness of key sustainability trends, knowledge to align all staff to contribute to organisation’s sustainability goals to ensure its compliance to various regulation and its sustainability goals
  • Lead the organisation’s development and implementation of sustainability strategy and policy to align its organisation’s sustainability goals and its strategic plan
  • Develop techniques to engage stakeholders like customers to ensure their action is aligned to organisation’s sustainability goals
  • Setup engagement strategy/methods for both internal & external stakeholders to ensure buy-in to the organisation’s pursuance of its sustainability goals to comply with regulators’ policies
  • Adopt best practice and learnt from other organisations’ failure or mis-steps in the implementation of sustainability goals due to failure in stewardship

Christopher's achievements include securing an ongoing ERM & Sustainability Consultancy project since 2020 where he uses solution-focused executive coaching to implement integrated risk, ESG policies across the enterprise-wide of 4,000 staff.
