Who is eligible for Absentee Payroll Funding?

Only companies who wish to send their staff for training can apply for Absentee Payroll Funding.

I am currently unemployed, can I apply for Absentee Payroll Funding?

Absentee Payroll Funding is only available to companies who wish to send their staff for training and is financial support scheme to encourage them to send their staff for training, as opposed to retrenching them.

Unemployed persons can still take advantage of subsidised course fees on WSQ training programmes if they are Singaporeans/PRs. Foreigners, non-Singaporeans/PRs are not eligible for subsidised course rates and will have to pay full fees.

Who is responsible to process the funding for the participants?

Your HR department will need to process the absentee payroll funding for your employees and submission can be done easily online at www.skillsconnect.gov.sg. We recommend that all applications be lodged BEFORE the course commences. However, if your course has commenced* and you have NOT lodged your AP claim, you can still do so 60 days AFTER your course END date.
* applies only to courses starting from 1st July 2010 onwards.

How can my company apply for Absentee Payroll funding?

1. If you already have a Skills Connect account
We recommend that all Absentee Payroll funding applications be lodged BEFORE the course commencement date. All applications must be done online at www.skillsconnect.gov.sg

2. If you DO NOT have a Skills Connect account
" Please note that you need AT LEAST FOURTEEN WORKING DAYS to set up an account.
" Application for absentee payroll funding must be done online at www.skillsconnect.gov.sg

What is the application process?

a. For absentee payroll claims administered under Skills Connect, the company (employer) must first register for a Skills Connect account at www.skillsconnect.gov.sg This is a one-time process and must be done in advance (recommended at least FOURTEEN working days before course commencement). Companies (employers) are not allowed to have more than one account.

I have been asked to enter some information such as course duration, total hours and course codes when I lodge my application. What information should I enter?

For courses customised to your company, please contact your assigned business development manager for more details.

Learners undergoing any Service Excellence training will be assessed on their ability to perform the competencies taught and will receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA) upon successful completion of each module.

*Prices quoted are in Singapore Dollars for ONE training programme. Subsidised course fees are nett and applicable to Singaporeans and PRs only. Classes require a minimum number of participants to commence and SQ Centre reserves the right to postpone or cancel classes due to insufficient numbers or unforeseen circumstances and will make every effort to inform participants of any changes in advance.
