 Funding Schemes for WSQ Programmes

SPUR
SPUR or Skills Programme for Upgrading and Resilience, is an enhanced financial support scheme to help Singaporeans and businesses cope with manpower challenges as we enter a period of slower economic growth due to the global financial downturn. It is designed to help workers upgrade existing skills and/or acquire new skills at very minimal additional costs to the employer. The SPUR initiative is a tripartite effort between WDA, NTUC and SNEF.

Enhanced Workfare Training Scheme (WTS)
The Workfare Training Scheme (WTS) encourages low wage workers to upgrade their skills through training, so that they can improve their employability and upgrade to better jobs.

Through WTS, low wage workers can benefit from higher course fee support when they sign up for any Singapore Workfare Skills Qualifications (WSQ) courses at a Continuing Education and Training (CET) Centre.

The scheme will run for three years from 2010 - 2013.
